Job Title: Parent for Parent (P4P) Program Coordinator

SUMMARY: In coordination with the P4P Program Supervisor, the P4P Program Coordinator is
responsible for the overall functioning of the P4P program. The coordinator is the primary “public face”
for the Parent Allies in Jefferson County. The P4P Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, overseeing,
and reporting on all services provided by the P4P program and volunteers. The coordinator must have
firsthand knowledge of dependency cases and the reunification process within the court system. This is
a grant funded position. This position will work approximately 12 hours a week, or 48 hours a month.
Some evening work will be required as needed for delivering training. The coordinator must be available
to parents in the program during scheduled business hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Confidentiality Agreement
o Submit and sign the Jefferson County Juvenile and Family Court Services Client
Confidentiality Agreement.
o It is the policy of Jefferson County Juvenile and Family Court that all employees and sub-
contractors respect the privacy of clients and employees and hold in confidence all
information obtained in the course of professional service and employment.
o All individuals engaged in the collection, handling, or disseminator of identifiable
information shall be specifically informed of the confidentiality requirements, their
responsibility to protect customer information, and the penalty for violation of this trust
under RCW 74.04.060.
• P4P Staffing
o Collaborate with the P4P Program Supervisor to recruit, engage, train and monitor the
Parent Allies.
o Collaborate with the P4P Program Supervisor in decisions and actions related to the
temporary or permanent termination of Parent Allies, if needed.
o Track unpaid volunteer time related to the P4P Program.
o Maintain a system of accounting for the distribution of stipends for Parent Allies.
o Collaborate with theP4P Program Supervisor to provide additional coaching and support
as needed to the Parent Ally Program Supports.
• Shelter Care Hearings and Dependency Related Hearings
o Ensure that all Shelter Care Hearings are covered by the P4P Program Coordinator
and/or the Parent Allies for the purpose of reaching out to parents in the dependency
process.
o Invite all parents to attend a Dependency 101 class.
o Ensure that accurate contact and demographic information is collected on all parents
who would like to attend the Dependency 101 class.
o Provide parents with resources for the P4P Program and the Dependency 101 class.
• Dependency 101 Class
o Ensure that each Dependency 101 Class is covered by a Parent Ally facilitator, a
representative from each system, and additional Parent Allies as needed.
o Ensure that all handouts for the Dependency 101 classes are updated, developed and
available for each meeting.
o Maintain a system for ensuring that all snacks and other required materials are available
for all Dependency 101 classes.
o Facilitate the Dependency 101 Class, and complete tracking sheets for each parent
attending the class.
o Ensure all pre/post surveys are completed and collected.
• Client Data
o Maintain a database on all parents served, including:
Names and contact information
Demographic information
Assistance needs
Records of contact with parents, including: telephone contacts, attendance at
Dependency 101 class, input from pre-and-post Dependency 101 Surveys,
referrals made for parents, and all other P4P services/resources received.
• Stakeholders
o Work with stakeholders to plan and schedule presentations by representatives from
different sectors at Dependency 101 classes.
o Send out meeting Reminders to stakeholders in a timely manner.
o Work with stakeholders to identify and troubleshoot issues that surface in the
implementation of P4P.
o Follow through with agreements made with stakeholders.
SUPERVISORY RESPNSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have been involved in a dependency case as outlined in RCW 13.34, been reunited with the
involved child/ren, and had your dependency case successfully closed.
Must accept responsibility for issues that brought their child/ren into dependency.
Must demonstrate continuing attention to a positive and healthy lifestyle. Must be in active recovery.
Must submit a criminal history background check. Background check must reflect no criminal infractions
or CPS involvement since dependency case closed.
Must be available to answer questions, provide information about resources, provide emotional
support, and troubleshoot barriers for parents who contact the program via telephone during scheduled
work hours.
Must be knowledgeable of basic computer operations, including: word processing, spreadsheet and
database applications.
Must have the ability to have a calming influence on people who may be in crisis and emotionally
distraught.
EDUCATION:
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Must successfully complete Parent 4 Parent training through the Court Improvement Program of the
Washington State Administrative Offices of the Courts within six months of employment.
OTHER KNOWLEDE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to have flexibility in work schedule. Duties occasionally include non-standard work hours.

Must report any and all communication with parents that would indicate child abuse or neglect to the
Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline immediately.
