HomeMy WebLinkAboutM120121E - Emergency Meeting (Oil City Road, Ruby Creek Washout) �,ONr co ,4w GL Et! ��zNU MINUTES Emergency Meeting — December 1, 2021, 9:54 a.m. Jefferson County Courthouse—Commissioners' Chambers 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA CALL TO ORDER: Chair Kate Dean and Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour participated in the Emergency Meeting remotely. Commissioner Greg Brotherton was absent. The following staff were present: Public Works Director/County Engineer Monte Reinders, Emergency Management Director Willie Bence, Road Maintenance Superintendent Matt Stewart, and Public Works Assistant Director/Engineering Services Manager Eric Kuzma. DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY re: Oil City Road: Public Works Director Reinders explained the severity of the situation along Oil City Road. Ruby Creek has washed out a section of road and a large culvert, cutting off access to residents. An emergency resolution is needed to mobilize a contractor to repair the road. He shared photos of the washout and answered questions posed by the Commissioners. Emergency Management Director Bence shared the proposed resolution with the Board. After discussion, Commissioner Eisenhour moved to approve RESOLUTION NO. 70-21 re: Declaration of Emergency Damage to County Roads, specifically damage to road infrastructure on Oil City Road, rendering the road impassable due to a washed-out culvert. Chair Dean seconded the motion. The motion carried. NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Chair Dean adjourned the meeting at 10:11 a.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
