OPEN FORUM FOR BOARD MEMBERS
Chimacum Park shelter is closed due to rotting logs and unsafe conditions, it needs to be restored,
replaced, and or removed. Subcommittee of Vern, Tim, Malloree, Marianne, and Kim volunteered to
work on this project, starting mid-January. First step is to assess the situation, develop options and
information regarding costs of rebuilding vs replacing etc. Matt said the shelter is an attractive nuisance
and is concerned about how long the shelter has been left in this condition. Matt said the shelter should
be removed unless some other plan can be implemented. He said the he and Marianne had met on site
to talk over options and agreed that removal would be seriously discussed on March 1st. The board can
advocate for this to be a County project funded through normal capital funding channels but that a fiscal
system and an agreement needs to be put in place before fundraising activities were initiated.
NEW BUSINESS
