All in favor. 3:40 Updates on coalition programs: • Vaping Prevention- education was completed at Quilcene and Brinnon Schools in May, we had a positive response and are looking forward to doing it again in the 2021-2022 school year. • Quilcene grant- the Quilcene CPWI Expansion grant was APPROVED! This will create an adolescent substance use prevention coalition in Quilcene. Hiring for the coordinator and SAP should begin in July. • Clerk hire recruitment- we are still looking for a candidate for this 14 hour/week position to work with the Coalition doing teen outreach for the Positive Social Norms campaign • Montana Summer Institute: Lindsay, Alexis, and Kelly are participating in this Positive Social Norms training, which will inform the social communications strategy for 2021-2022 Updates from coalition members: • Holly and Brett summarized the end of year programs and plan for the summer, also reported on the search for a new principal as Principal Campbell will be leaving before the 2021-2022 school year. • LoLo reported on the end of year programs with the Interact Clubs, students were eager to have time together and spent many hours together after the event was meant to end. 4:00 Reviewed action plan Two additions since last year: • Added Resilience Project planning including cultural mindfulness organizing support • Added evidence based social/emotional learning support through a program called ‘Positive Action’, which will include a training for the counselors in PT and Chimacum school districts Discussed doing a presentation to Blue Heron teachers about NEAR sciences as a part of the Resilience Project planning. Lindsay and Denise will follow up with Holly in August to discuss scheduling. Discussed scheduling Vaping Prevention Education at Blue Heron for the 2021-2022 school year, Lindsay will follow up with Brett and Holly in August to discuss scheduling. Discussed how to do Mental Health First Aid, possibly in collaboration with OlyCAP, Lindsay and Alexis will meet over the summer to explore this. Discussed Guiding Good Choices which was missing from the action plan, Lindsay will add it to Goal 1. Next steps: Lindsay will submit the action plan to DBHR and share out the final version out once it is approved.
