Review Coalition Assessment Tool. Approved agenda- Denise moved, Al seconded, all in favor. 3:35 CPWI program updates and Community updates • Guiding Good Choices is in progress, training starts next week for Holly Gumm and also a local parent/former participant to become trainers themselves, thank you to our new facilitators! • Community Survey- 147 responses so far, need to reach 180 before December 15th • Onboarding for new Chimacum coordinator Andrew Fechenbach will start on December 22. • Holly Gumm updated the group on Quilcene coalition strategic planning. • Denise updated the group on PAX Good Behavior Game, her and Rhi have called all the legislators and the house committee on education. • Lindsay updated the group on the position created at Port Townsend High School for a Student Assistance Professional, hiring is in progress and those interested can contact Ciela Meyer- cmeyer@oesd114.org. 3:50 Update on cellphone use policy meeting • Lindsay and Greg summarized the workgroup meeting on November 8, and that based on the difficulty school districts face in implementing zero digital device policies, the workgroup indicated that we would table that advocacy for now. • Discussed how stressful it is for teachers and staff to walk the line with maintaining discipline and having a lot of compassion for students. • Discussed how to bring a gesture of support to teachers/staff, kind notes or gifts of snacks. • Discussed how to support teachers in their confusion around what the guidelines are for classroom hygiene management during COVID-19. • Discussed general structure of school year and how much stress is caused by lack of flexibility with testing and core curriculum. Action items: 1. Card campaign for gestures of support for teachers, Laura will coordinate. 2. Look into how to advocate for guidelines for teachers classroom hygiene management at the weekly state-wide superintendent meeting with health officer. 3. Continue to look into getting more mental health counseling hours at the schools. 4:15 Review Coalition Assessment Tool Discussed results of Coalition Assessment Tool, though with two responses being such a small sample size it is difficult to accurately interpret the results. Those who haven’t completed the CAT yet can send it to Holly to increase the validity of the survey. 4:30 Closed meeting.
