In the Matter of a Petition to
Establish a Port Ludlow Drainage
District

RESOLUTION NO, 24-00
WHEREAS, the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners received a
petition to establish a Port Ludlow Drainage District signed by ten persons owning
property within the boundary of the proposed District; and,
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Engineer reviewed the petition to
determine its conformance with the requirements of Chapter 85.38 Revised Code of
Washington (RCW); and,
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Engineer presented an report to the
Board of Jefferson County Commissioners regarding the petition; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners finds that the
petition meets the requirements ofRCW 85.38.020 in that it sets forth the objectives
sought by the creation of the district, the proposed projects that will accomplish the
district objectives, and the boundaries of the proposed District; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners finds that
establishment of a Port Ludlow Drainage District would be conducive to the public
health, safety, and convenience and of special benefit to the majority of land within the
District; the proposed improvements are feasible and economical; and the benefits exceed
the costs; and,
WHEREAS, Chapter 85.38 RCW directs the County legislative authority
to hold a public hearing to take testimony for and against a petition to establish a special
district;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED that the Board of Jefferson
County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday May 16, 2000 at 7:00 PM
at the Port Ludlow Beach Club in Port Ludlow to take testimony for and against the
establishment of a Port Ludlow Drainage District;

BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED that the Jefferson County Department of
Public Works is instructed to place the required notices of the public hearing as specified
in Chapter 85.38 RCW. -' I ()
