Extending the Effective Date for } RESOLUTION NO. 26-99
Implementing the District Court Judge }
as a Full Time Position }
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 50-98 adopted June 22, 1998 established the salary of the
District Court Judge for Jefferson County to be 100% of the salary set by the Washington Citizens
Commission on Salaries for Elected Officials, to be effective January 1, 1999; and,
WHEREAS, Ch. 3.34.040 RCW provides that District Court judges receiving a salary
equal to 100% of the salary set by the Salary Commission shall be deemed full time and shall
devote all of their time to the office and shall not engage in the practice of law; and
WHEREAS, Mark Huth was elected to the office of District Court Judge for Jefferson
County and took office January 1, 1999; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7-99 adopted on January 25, 1999 delayed for three months
the effective date of Resolution No. 50-98 at the request of Mark Huth to allow him to conclude
his private law practice;
WHEREAS, Mark Huth has requested that the effective date of Resolution No. 7-99 be
delayed for one more month to allow him to conclude his private law practice.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBYRESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners,
that the effective date for implementing the District Court Judge as a full time position be revised
to May 1, 1999 and that the salary remain at the level of the position in 1998 until that time.

RE: Extension of part-time status for District Court Judge position
Dear Sirs,
I had previously requested that you. extend the part-time status for the
District Court Judge position till March 31, 1999 to allow me to wind up my private
practice, unforeseen difficulties have arisen requiring an additional month. Please
extend the part-time status until May 1, 1999. As I previously stated, I am
committed to fulfilling the full time requirements of the position and have done so to
this point. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
