IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that Leland Valley Road West, County Road No. 34370, M.P.
3.06 be improved as follows:
Replacement of the existing 3' diameter concrete culvert at this location with a culvert
appropriated sized for both hydraulics and adult/juvenile fish passage.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriation from the officially adopted road fund budget and
based on the County Engineer's estimate is hereby made in the amounts and for the purpose shown:

The construction is to be accomplished by County forces in accordance with RC.W. 36.77.065
and W.A.C. 136.18.

1. Description - a brief description of the agenda item: Please include project, road,
contract, grant, etc., number if one is available for the Commissioner Index.
County project #CR1384, County Road #34370, M.P 3.06, is replacement of the existing
3' diameter concrete culvert with a culvert appropriately sized for both hydraulics and
fish passage.
2. Issue - a short outline of the issue: Including policy issue falls within; strategy or
objective issue supports; key reference areas (law/policy/regulation).
This culvert is scheduled for replacement due to deficiencies in both hydraulic capacity
and fish passage considerations. Funding for the project includes local and anticipated
WSDOT grant funds.
3. Opportunity Analysis - What is the type of action the Board is being asked to take:
Discussion/decision - if decision - what is the range of possible solutions considered by
the department in preparing its recommendation.
The Board is asked to execute the attached resolution, and return it to Public Works for
further processing.
4. Specific Departmental Recommendation - Why was the action recommended and
what would be the impact of not taking the action: What specific action is necessary by
the BOCC approval - adoption - deny - remand back to department.
