Port Townsend, WA 98368 (360) 385-9160 Frank Gifford, Public Works Director/County Engineer MEMORANDUM DATE: August 16, 1999 TO: Board of County Commissioners Frank Gifford, Public Works Director/County Engineer, interim. ::;:¡ óJð FROM: Re: Recommendation of award of bid for Fletcher Creek Culvert Material, Project #CD1382. The Public Works Department has completed checking the bids for the above referenced project and recommends that the contract be awarded to: Spokane Culvert Company of Spokane, W A for their bid amount of$56,321.18. The low bidder was Washington Culvert Co. with a bid amount of $55,350.79, a difference of $970.39. However, per addendum #1 distributed to all bidders and planholders on August 12 by fax and mail (see attached copy) which was received, noted and returned to Public Works by all three bidders prior to August 16, 1999 11:00 a.m., the bids may be evaluated based on delivery date. Washington Culvert Co. requires two additional weeks to deliver the product. Therefore, due the short time frame available for a contractor to complete the construction of this project within pennit windows, the Public Works Department recommends award of the contract to Spokane Culvert Company. ~ VOL ') 5 t-'Çj A L. ¡.,~~,; ¡ CLf Cc: Project file CD1382 100% Recycled Paper
