WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works is petitioning to change the name of a
private road from Nelson Place to Wood haven Lane or Hillside Lane or Meadow Wood Lane
as shown on attached Exhibit" A", pursuant to Jefferson County 911 Ordinance Number 2-
0401-91 and;
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name to allow for further
addressing along the road and eliminate confusion due to similar road names as required by
the Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance and;
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are no addresses assigned on this mile post
number at this time that will be affected by the road name changing as shown on attached
Exhibit "B", and;
WHEREAS, a notice of publication, hearing and letters to interested parties have been
completed pursuant to Jefferson County 911 Ordinance Number 2-041-91 Section 4.320;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the road shall be named Wood haven Lane.

comments and testimony regarding a request to change the name of a private road
within your jurisdiction or which may affect your current addressing. Written
comments may be submitted prior to the hearing date and will become part of the
record. All interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing. Please
contact the Jefferson County Department of Public Works in writing at PO Box
2070, Port Townsend, Washington, 98368 or call (360) 385.9166 for further
information or if you have any questions.

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Jefferson County
Board of Commissioners on Monday, October 4, 1999, at 1 :45 p.m. in the
Commissioners' Chambers at the County Courthouse in Port Townsend,
Washington, for the purpose of taking testimony concerning renaming the end of
Nelson Place located off Fager Hill Road in the Discovery Bay Village Plat in Port
Townsend, Washington in Section 13, Township 29 North, Range 2 W., W.M. Any
person may appear at the public hearing and be heard. Written comments will be
accepted and be made part of the record. For further information contact the
Jefferson County Department of Public Works, (360) 385-9160. Written comments
may be mailed to Jefferson County Public Works at P.O. Box 2070, Port
Townsend, WA 98368.

We have requested the road name change which you are considering today.
The current name is Nelson Place. We understand the Nelsons were the
original owners of this property. It has been sold twice since then.
We have talked to the only other land owner on Nelson Place. Aleta Webley.
She collaborated with us on selecting the three proposed road names.
We have talked to Howard Fager who resides on Fager Hill Road. He
supports our intent.
The three proposed names are written in the order of our preference. and
we request that you consider them in the order written.
Thank you for your consideration of this request and the resultant action.
We very enthusiastically anticipate our retirement when we can then
become permanent residents of your beautiful county.
