County of Jefferson
In the Matter of Establishing a
New Fund Entitled the Rural County
Assistance Reserve Fund
RESOLUTION NO 94-99
WHEREAS, the voters of Washington State adopted Referendum Bill No. 49 which in
part established the Distressed County Assistance Account from a portion of the Motor Vehide
Excise Tax receipts; and,
WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature has provided that monies from the
distressed County Assistance Account be distributed in the same proportion as distributions of
Rural County Local Options Sales Tax imposed under RCW 82.14.370; and,
WHEREAS, funds distributed from the Distressed County Assistance Account shall be
expended by Counties for criminal justice and other purposes; and,
WHEREAS, due to the passage of 1-695, the exact amount of the impact that initiative
will have on the Dish'essed County Assistance Account and the monies provided to the County is
not yet known, and there is a need for the County CollillÙssioners to reassess the budget for the year
2000 because of these impacts.
NO~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, by the Board of County CollillÙssioners that
the Rural County Assistance Reserve Fund Account Number 307-000-020 is hereby established with
monies to come from the State for distressed counties.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that expenditures from the Rural County Assistance
Reserve Fund may be for any purpose as allowed by law upon the Board of CollillÙssioners
establishing a budget for the fund.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that interest earned from the monies invested by the
Jefferson County Treasurer from this fund shall be deposited to the fund.
