RESOLUTION NO. 10'5 - Cj'if
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Department of Public Works has reported to the Board of County
Commissioners, that beginning December 15, 1999 unusual weather conditions consisting of heavy rain and flooding
have caused a disaster by creating extensive road impairment to Jefferson County, and;
WHEREAS, there is a present emergency which necessitates activation ofthe Jefferson County
Disaster Preparedness plan and utilization of emergency powers granted pursuant to RCW 36.40.180;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, and declared that there is an emergency due to the road
impairment caused by heavy rain and flooding conditions in Jefferson County; therefore, designated department is
authorized to enter into contracts and incur obligations necessary to combat such disaster, protecting health and
safety of persons and property, and providing emergency assistance to victims of such disaster.
IT IS FURTHER RESOL VED, that each designated department is authorized to exercise the powers
vested under this resolution in the light of the exigencies of an extreme emergency and formalities prescribed by law
(excepting mandatory constitutional requirements.)
