JEFFERSON COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
TO: Board of County Commissioners
Mark McCauley, Interim County Administrator
FROM: Apple Martine, Director of Public Health
Brent A. Butler, AICP, Director, Department of Community Development
Pinky Feria Mingo, Director, Environmental Health and Water Quality
DATE: February 22, 2022
SUBJECT: Configuration Training for Tyler Technologies EnerGov
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Jefferson County Public Health ("JCPH") and the Department of Community Development
("DCD") have few staff that have had EnerGov configuration training. This training is a
necessary component to understand database functionality and design. Jefferson County's
anticipated EnerGov launch date is June of 2022. Without trained staff, the system is
vulnerable. Inconsistent use, data entry errors and security breaches may cause long-term
problems that reduce the anticipated benefits of the database.
ANALYSIS:
Training staff is an essential part of the database launch and its on-going maintenance and use.
This training is for the super-users and those that will help train other staff in using EnerGov.
FISCAL IMPACT:
1 The cost is $7,000 for 32 hours and could be scheduled for the week of 3/21 or 3/28.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the $7,000 for EnerGov Configuration training.
