RE: Nothnagle Special Inspection Requirements

Dear Shane,
At your request, I have reviewed the special inspection requirements for the Nothnagle
Residence. In the structural notes, we have listed some inspections that are not required.
Please see below:
1.Special Inspection is not required for concrete construction. The concrete has been
designed using f’c of 2,500 psi and meets exception 2 of section 1705.3 of the IBC.
2.Special Inspection is not required for steel construction. There is limited steel work on
this project (one post) and the loading is not critical.
3.Special Inspection for the wood sheathed shear walls is to be periodic, performed after
nailing of the shear walls and before covering.
