These facilities are reaching their engineered lifespan and capital expenditures will continue to increase as their lifespan is extended. Public Works has begun a planning process to identify the conceptual design, location and funding mechanism to modify or replace the current facilities. This preliminary process is expected to take a minimum 24 months with the modification or replacement of the facilities expected to take 60 to 84 months to complete. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's: At a workshop on January 24, 2022, Public Works staff presented the Board of County Commissioners with a draft Solid waste facility planning process which included the formation of a task force to assist staff in the process. By direction of the BoCC, staff has solicited interest from potential task force members and has listed these volunteers and the interests or areas of expertise they represent in the attached Resolution. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: Expenditures for Task Force formation are small and limited to staff time currently budgeted for in the adopted 2022-2023 Solid Waste budget. Recommendation: Adopt the attached resolution. Department Contact: Al Cairns X213 Reviewed By: Mark McCauley nterim County Adminis r or Date
