Bragg MINUTES May 29 , 1973 10:00a .m. Meeting called to order by Chairman Walter A. Kelly with all members present. Mr. Lloyd Chandler appeared re: Portion of Co. Rd. No. 2-0.14 , Marrowstone Island. Pre- sented letter from Roy L. Nordby stating opposition to vacation of said road. Board advised that road has not been petitioned for vacation and if it were, petition-would be denied due to road being access to the beach. Mrs . Lee Moore, Mr. Bud Ammeter and Mr. Robt. Worthington appeared re: Street extension of road behind hotel in Quilcene (Worthington's Addition) . Requests road be put in all the way through at the proper location. Board advised that access road will be provided, how- ever, no definite decision on construction of complete new road. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara , second by Commissioner Brown to approve and sign Ordinance No. 2-73, Survey Recording Act, as follows. Unanimous Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner Brown to approve and sign Ordinance No. 3-73, Vacation and Sick Leave Privileges , as follows. Unanimous Motion by Commissioner O'Meara second by Commissioner Brown to approve the following Shoreline Management Permits for Jeff. Co. Rd. Dept: Application No. 45 , Fletcher Creek Bridge; Application No. 46 , Tower Creek Bridge; Application No. 47, Anderson Creek Bridge; Application No. 48, Un-named Creek Bridge . Approved by Advisory Commission. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara , second by Commissioner Brown to approve Shoreline Management Permit No. 50, Port of Port Townsend, for reconstruction of float system, break- water extension and dredging at Quilcene Boat Haven. Unanimous . Steve Roy, Juvenile Probation Officer appeared re: Supervisor for YDCC Program. Recom- mends Douglas Wiley be hired for this position. Stated Wiley is continuing his education at Peninsula College and meets all criteria . Approval granted by the Board. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner Brown to approve minutes of • last meeting. Unanimous. • Letter from Calmar A. McCune requesting exemption from Shoreline Management Permit System. Proposed project is replacement of clean sand on the beach at the eastern foot of Tyler Street. Letter will be referred to the Advisory Commission for recommendation. Copy of new application for Class E ,F liquor license for American Campgrounds , Inc, Dis- covery Bay, from State Liquor Board. Board disapproves until further information is received as to type of business where liquor is to be sold. Board signed Contract with Alaska Pacific Erectors , Inc. , for repair of Queets River Bridge No. 206/060. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara , second by Commissioner Brown to appoint Mr. James Sofie, Mr. A.C . Dalgleish and Mr. Randall Hicks as Jefferson County Board of Equalization for 1973 through 1975 . Mrs . June Pentland was appointed Clerk of the Board. Unanimous . Appointees shall be so notified. Pre-application notification form for the Dept. of Game, for the development of six public fishing areas , from the Olympic Regional Planning Council. Approved by the Board. 10 'Meeting of May 29th. con't. Request for Shoreline Management procedures concerning gravel removals , from the Dept. of Natural Resources . Board determined that formal application for permits will be required. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
