COUNTY CALENDAR
OCTOBER
Oct. 1 The sheriff shall make out a written jail report. (ROW 36 .63 .200)
Oct. 1 The board of county commissioners shall begin a hearing on the county budget.
The hearing shall not exceed five days in length. At the conclusion of the
hearing, the commissioners shall adopt a budget and fix the necessary levies .
(ROW 36.40.070; 36 .40.080; 36.40.090) . See later alternate date for budget
hearing (ROW 36 .40.071) .
Oct. 1 The county treasurer shall settle his accounts with the board of county commis-
sioners for the period since the last preceding settlement. (ROW 36 .29 .080)
Oct. 1 The county commissioners and the county auditor shall count the money in the
county treasury and ascertain whether it contains the proper amount. (ROW 36 .

Oct. 1 The county commissioners shall visit the county jail. (ROW 36.63. 110)
Oct. 3 City and other taxing district budgets shall be filed with the clerk of the board
of county commissioners . (ROW 84 .52 .020)

Oct. 8 The board of county commissioners and the governing body of each taxing dis-
trict within the county authorized to levy taxes directly, shall certify to the
county assessor the amount of taxes levied upon property. (ROW 84 .52 .070)
Oct. 15 The assessor shall report to the Department of Revenue on his progress in the
revaluation of property in the county. (ROW 84 .41 .130)
Oct. 22 Legal holiday -- Veterans' Day (ROW 1 . 16.050)
Oct. 31 2nd half taxes due at the office of the county treasurer. (RCW 84 .S6 .020)
