MINUTES
December 4 , 1973
10:00a .m. Meeting reconvened at this hour with Chairman Kelly calling the meeting to order
and all Members present.
Budget Hearing con't.
County Parks: Approved as presented for a total of $99,253 .00 .
Solid Waste: Caretaker Quilcene deleted and Personal Benefits adjusted accord-
ingly, for budget total of $147, 231 .57. Road Millage $86 ,795 . 00 .
Sheriff, con't: Sheriff Hansen appeared. It was agreed to add another deputy and
allow straight comp-time to employees working holidays , in lieu of time and 1/2 , . . Two
Criminal Deputy's deleted and Personal Benefits adjusted accordingly. Under Repairs and
Maintenence , $7, 000 lowered to $6,500; under Capital Outlay, 1 portakile 2-way radio, 1
Motrac 110 2-way radio, 1 ton 10' Van, 19' boat and trailer and lite bar were all deleted for
a budget total of $186, 136 .50 .
Motion by Commissioner O'Meara , second by Commissioner Brown to adopt and sign Res-
olution No. 58-73, Annual Current Expense Budget for 1974 , as follows . Unanimous .
Hearing for Protection Island, Div. 5 . Mr. Chas . Little, Developer, appeared. Action
delayed again due to St. Dept's . not reacting to county's request for comment on preliminary
impact statement. Plan. Director, Cunnimgham will prepare final impact statement for action
by the Board next Monday. Copies will be made available to the public.
Chairman Kelly signed letter terminating Group Annuity Contract M-1600, with the First
Investment Annuity Co. of America , to be sent to Sutliffe and Co. , Inc.
Also attending today's meeting were: Mary McQuillen, John Siebenbaum, Mike Orth, Fred
Houghton, William Pittis and George Huntingford .
There being no further time left for today's business , the remainder will be held over until
next Monday. Today's meeting ajourned .
