MINUTES
August 2L 1972
10:O0a .m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A.M .O'Meara with all members present.
Application for Soldiers' & Sailors'') Relief Fund from Dennis Fisk. Chairman O'Meara will check
with the Dept. of Public Assistance before Board makes a decision.
Letter from Olympic Air Pollution Control Authority stating 90 day progress report on solid waste
development must be received within 7 days or variance may be cancelled. Referred to Eng .
Becker. ,
Resolution No. 29-72 , CRP No,. 352 , to improve various county roads for striping. Approved
and signed by Board,as follows: 1
Ammended Road Construction Program for 1972 presented by Eng . Becker. Motion by Commis-
sioner Huntingford , second by Commissioner Kelly to approve and sign. Unanimous . Program 1
as follows:
Supplemental Budget for 1972 , Jefferson' County Road Fund , presented by Eng . Becker. Motion
by Commissioner Huntinfford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve and sign. Unanimous .

Engineer Becker presented notice on new road signing on sparsley traveled gravel roads - warn-
ing sign stating "Caution No Warning Signs for Next Miles" . Motion by Commissioner
Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve Resolution No. 30-72 adopting signing .
Unanimous by Board . Resolution as follows:
Becker informed Board that both Park employees are using two days a week dumping garbage
and are unable to do other necessary jobs .; Requested permission to contact Olympic Disposal
for possibility of doing job. Permission granted to get price list.
Eva Taylor, Chairman of the Planning ComMission, appeared to request a list of developments
in the county, and ask permission to proceed with trail survey. Board granted permission to
proceed with survey. I
Board received ballots for voting for replacement of Retired Assessor, Jim Sofie . Three names
were presented by the Democratic Central Committee , as follows: Anthony E . Stroeder, Chester
Strand , Michael D . Orth. Board voted secretly. Ballots opened and votes counted by Secretary
to the Board and Nancy Heslop, Reporter, Port Townsend Leader. Tally shows one vote for each
name submitted . It will now be necessary for the Board to certify to the Governor they are unable
to agree on appointment and therefore request that appointment be made by him.
Copy of application for funds from Olympic Regional Planning Council for Agnew Irrigation Dis-
trict System Renovation. Notice will be sent of Board's approval.

Seattle District, Corps of Engineers Public Notice No. 071-OYB-1-000929, Jerrald Weidner,
Mats Mats Bay - to construct net shed . Not exempt from S .M . Permit. Notice will be sent to
Corps of Engineers and Mr. Weidner.
Board reviewed the following correspondence 'without comment:
Copy of letter to Casy and Prusan, from Engineer Becker re: Road vacation.
Two county trust land transmittal of funds from Dept. of Natural Resources: (1) $30
from Eugene V. Hoglun; (2) $69 from Beatrice Pleines.
