Brown • MINUTES May 8, 1972 10:00a.m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A.M.O'Meara with all members present. Board discussed Comprehensive Liability Ins . Policy No. CLP7243500, United Pacific Ins . Co. Question as to whether old cars have been deleted from the policy. Meeting will be arranged with Joe Welch, Ins Agent. Engineer Becker informed the Board he had been offered $50 for a '54 Chevrolet no longer needed or wanted by his office . Motion by Commissioner Kelly to give Becker permission to sell. Com- missioner Huntingford stated he feels car should be auctioned off with other cars from the Sheriff and Assessor's offices . Chairman O'Meara concurs with Commissioner Huntingford. Auction will be advertised in the Leader for two consecutive weeks and be held on Sat. , May 27th. at 10:00a.m. Board approved and signed April bills to be paid in May, as follows: Board discussed the proposed agreements for Water and Sewerage Disposal Plants from Bridge- haven and Evergreen Environmental Corp. with Pros . Attny. Daly and Auditor Betty Temple . Daly again stated he is the county taking over water and sewer systems from Developers. No final decision at this time . Hearing for Shoreline Management Development Permits for Jefferson county for the construction of Rock Cr. Bridge , Maple Cr, Bridge and Alder Cr. Bridge . No objections presented. All three applications approved. Hearing for John Schwilke , OK Rubber Welders, Shoreline Management Development Permit. Chairman O'Meara will check with the Dept. of Ecology for possible exemption. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve Minutes of last meeting. Unanimous. Mr. Will Garriss , Chairman, Jefferson County Overall Economic Development Comiittee, appeared to invite the Board to a luncheon on Thursday, May filth., 12:00 noon, at Manresa Inn. I • Letter from Mrs . Ruth P. Hedges regarding the south end of Shore Drive in Paradise Bay Estates. She requests a "finish" be put on the road. Commissioner Huntingford said he lad gone out to see Mrs . Hedges twice last weekend but she was not at home . Ed Becker informed that road is not ready to be oiled as yet, because the road is not in the right place. Road site needs to be corrected and culverts put in. Engineer Becker informed Board the stop sign on the southeast corner of 4th. and-,Moore Streets in the Irondale plat had been removed. Board discussed the necessity of additional members for the Solid Waste Committee and the Water and Sewer Committee. Mike Orth, Hadlock, .was suggested for the Solid Waste Board, and Howard Delp, Hadlock, suggested for the Water Sewer Board Assessor, Jim Sofie presented two applications for Open Space band Classification and recom- mended approval of both. 1) James D. Shaw - Agriculture; and 2) Norman P. Worthington - Timber. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Chairman O'Meara to approve as reco- mended. Unanimous . By motion of Commissioner Kelly and second by Commissioner Huntingford, the Board authorized County Treasurer, Lilliam Jaco bsen to transfer the current remaining balance in the Jefferson County Tuberculosis Control Fund to the Olympic Health District for deposit in the Public Health Minutes of May 8th. con't. Pooling Fund in the Clallam County Treasurer's Office . Authorization is also given to transfer on a monthly basis moneys allocated to the Jefferson County TB Control Fund as per request from Shirley Benham, Jr. M.D. M.P.H. Assessor, Jim Sofie , presented list of surplus vehicles available for public auction. Board received request from State Dept. of Highways for exemption from Shoreline Management Permit for additional work necessary on Hood Canal Bridge, C ,S. . . . 1600 TB, SR 104 RO 976 . Board reviewed the following without comment: Copy of the proposed rules and regulations required under the Model Litter Control Act (RCW 70.93) Request from Homer S . Smith Ins . Agency for the year, make and model of all vehicles assigned to the Sheriff's and Engineer's Dept. for reconciliation of the charges for insurance . Copy of letter to Olympic Air Pollution Control Authority from Co. Eng. , Becker re: Variance for burning . Copy of letter to Lenihan, Ivers , Jensen and McAteer, Attnys . , from Assessor, Jim Sofie re: Wasser and Winters Co. , Dept. of Natural Resources Owl Mountain Timber Sale No. 33104 . Notice from Dept. of Ecology re: Preapplications for grants to demonstrate Improved Local- Regional Solid Waste Management Systems . Letters re: Evergreen Environmental Development Corp. 1) Approval of Shoreline Management Permit No. 17, with restrictions , from Randall M. Durant, Dist. Sanitarian. 2) Approval of Comprehensive Sewer Plan, with provisions, from R. Jerry Bollen, Dept. of Ecology. 3) Approval of Comprehensive Sewer Plan, with provisions , from Kenneth J. Merry, P.E . State Dept. of Health. Notices from Dept. of Ecology of termination of 45 day review period for Shoreline Management Permits for Dept. of Natural Resources Permit No. 10 and Mayr Bros . Logging Co. Inc. Permit No. 11 . Two applications from State Liquir Board 1) Robert Gordon Comstock d/b/a Bob's Village Store, Class EF license. 2) Robert George Haley d/b/a Pleasant Harbor Cafe , Class CD license. There being no further business before the Board the meeting was adjourned.
