Meeting called,to order by Chairman A.M.O'Meara with all members present. • Hearing for Shoreline Management Permit for Dept.,of Fisheries: Construction of security fence , +' at their Whitney Point Shellfish Laboratory. No one.appeared for or against permit: Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve permit. Unanil'nous by Board.• , �+ Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to accept and approve new. blanket approval "Voucher Approval" form for the signing of monthly bills . Unanimous by Board. Engineers office will also use the new form.• • Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to accept and approve minutes of March 6th. meeting as presented. Unanimous by Board. Board signed application for Soldiers & Sailors' Relief for Carl W. Mann for the amount of $250. Money will be paid to his creditors. • Mr. Curtis Anderson appeared re Timber behind Little League ball park at Hadlock. Trees are to be removed by the ccunty and Mr. Anderson would like to have them removed as soon as possi- ble . Engineer Becker stated the Road Dept. will take out the trees before starting spring road won) Al West appeared re: •Job openings in County Road Dept. Advised there are no,jobs available at this time. Board received letter of resignation from Jesse S . Allen as member of Jefferson County Planning Commission. Replacement tabled at this time due to lack of applicants . • Engineer Becker presented the following for the Boards approval and review. 1) Letter requesting waives` of Shoreline Management Permit for proposed project to improve section of highway (FAS 497(9) Quilcene- Center Road No. 18) by placing overlay over the existing driving surface and shoulders. Board concurs that permit is not required. 2) Contract from Western Farmers Assn. for their construction of a storage shed at the County Shop Site in Hadlock. Board approved and signed contract. . 3) Withholding Resolution No. 10-72 for reimbursement of funds, from State, for County Road Project 345 , FAS, Route 497, Co.Rd.No. 18, Quilcene-Center Road. Resolution approved and signed by the Board. Board received Summons to appear for Claim for Damages re: Daniel R. McBride, et ux, Dennis R. McBride, et ux, Sennis R. McBride as Guardian Ad Litem for Mark Allen McBride and Clayton Roy McBride Plaintiffs vs Gary D. Jensenq et ux, George Olson, et ux, and Jefferson County - Defendants. Copies of,Summons will be forwarded to Pros . Attny. Daly and Joe Welch Ins . Board received Memorandum Opinion for the Case of Jefferson County, Petitioner, vs G. Brian Egan, et ux, Respondents . Decision was made in behald of Egan. Memorandum Opinion states "Under all facts .and circumstances the petition for condemnation is denied and the county is dir- ected to correct its records to show that there is no platting and no roads on the Egan property" . Bricio Balderas, Jim Roberts and Mr. & Mrs. Guy Rudolph appeared re: Use of Memorial Field for Little League Baseball. Meeting is for purpose of scheduling games for 1972 season'. Partial schedule set up. Copy of complete final schedule will be forwarded to Engineer Becker. • • Request from Mr. & Mrs . Walter Jordan for vacation of county road rumming through the SW1/4 of the SW1/4 of the SE1/4 of Sec.6, T.30N. , R. 1WWM lying Westerly of Cape George 28th Stree Extension Road.. ,Letter will be sent to petitioner explaining necessary procrdures for vacation of roadway. Minutes of March 13th. meeting con't. Mr. John Green appeared to request pei-mission to place a cirgarette machine in the main hall of the courthouse. Mr. Green already has a candy machine in the courthouse. Contract is to be drawn up giving the county 10% on all candy and 5 per pack on all cigarettes sold in the courthouse by Mr. Green. Board reviewed the following without comment-, • County trust land transmittal of funds - $289.21 , from 011ie Stamper. Copy of letter to Robert George Haley, Pleasant Harbor Cafe, from Liquor Contr61 Board re: Withdrawal of application for CD license . Letter from U.S. Dept. of Commerce stating Jefferson County is designated as a redevelop- ment area under the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 , as of March 10, 1972 . Notice from Dept. of Army to advise of changes in the numbering of public notices . Notice from Dept. of Revenue of State Hearing on property tax reductions set for Clallam County. Gas Tax Allocation Percentages to counties, 1972-1973, from State Highway Dept. Letter and Senate Bills 29 & 298, relating to alcoholism, from E .A. Kenealy, Super- visor, Alcoholism Section, Olympia . There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. •
