RESOLUTION NO. _l O 193
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners received a
letter from the County's elected officials requesting that the
Courthouse be closed on the 23rd of November, 1973, and
WHEREAS, RCW 36.16.100 does provide that all county
offices shall be kept open for the transaction of business
such days and hours as the Board of County Commissioners shall
by resolution prescribe, now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Clallam County
Commissioners, meeting in regular session, that the Clallam
County Courthouse remain closed on November 23, 1973.

after Thanksgiving.
This allows employees to enjoy a true holiday of thanks-
giving with their families, some of whom are a great distance '�.
from Clallam County.
In order to preserve one of the best American holidays
for the purpose it was established, we the undersigned County
officials respectfully request that the Courthouse and other
county_ offices be closed on Friday, November 24, 1972.

Gentlemen:
Although Jefferson County Courthouse has never been closed on
the Friday after Thanksgiving, it has been a practice in many of
the counties, including Clallam County, to close the Courthouse
on the day after Thanksgiving.
This allows employees to enjoy a true holiday of thanksgiving with
their families, some of whom are a great distance from Jefferson
County.
In order to preserve one of the best Arne rican holidays for the
purpose it was established, we the undersigned County officials
respectfully request that the Courthouse and other county offices
