Dear Jefferson County Board of Health;
I understand the Board will discuss when to go to hybrid meetings. Being one of the
citizens pushing for HB 1329 passage to retain remote access and a reliable voice for public
health; I definitely have thoughts I wish to submit ahead of time.
As to an in-person component I'm going to be acute: In-person component needs to be Dr.
Berry, MD's call and if Dr. Berry, MD won't be there, then please wait. Because Dr. Berry's
agreement to please be present to accept presents from her fans should be the old school
acid test if this is a safe time to finally CELEBRATE. I am confident having gone to too
many public meetings in person over the years - including during the Covid19 pandemic -
that there will be bailiffs provided by law enforcement and therefore the possibility for
disruptive behavior/mischief will be slight.
All that said, as I told the State Board of Health yesterday in part;
I can't think enough the public health teams who have taken the fight to COVID-19
despite the politicization of COVID-19. Especially Dr. Allison Berry of the Olympic
Peninsula who used remote meeting access to put her bow into the waves of
misinformation by COVID-19 and get the facts out there. I'm grateful House Bill 1329
is about to become law to retain inclusive public meetings so I want to thank the
Chair and the board and the staff for enabling them during this pandemic as well.
I feel the same way about your staff also, not just the State Board's staff. I'll stop there for
now.
========
Finally, I await with bated breath reading the comments of the disloyal pro-Covid19
opposition. I read in their after-action report full of selective reporting and worse that pro-
Covid19 forces really don't like when the Board tunes them out and won't mention my share
screen trick of sharing CDC data. Just about got them to fade... ;-)
I think I've said enough. Good luck to all!
Very strategically;
Joe A. Kunzler
