Location: Chambers Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners
Welcome & Introductions: County Commissioner Kate Dean, Chair, called the meeting to order in
the presence of Jefferson County Staff Member, Mark McCauley, District No. 2 At-Large
Representative, Gary Rowe, Port of Port Townsend, District No. 1 Commissioner, Pete Hanke,
Public Utility District No 1 Commissioner, Dan Toepper, Economic Development Council (EDC)
Team Jefferson Executive Director, Brian Kuh, District No. 3 At-Large Representative, James
Munn, City of Port Townsend Mayor, Michelle Sandoval, City of Port Townsend, Public Works
Director, Steve King and Port of Port Townsend, Executive Director, Eron Berg.
Discussion and possible action re: Expiring/Expired 2019 PIF Grants: City of Port Townsend Storm
Water Grant - expired August 30, 2020, Public Utility District (PUD) No. 1 Quilcene Water Tank
Grants (2) - both expire December 1, 2020 and Fort Worden Employee Housing Grant - expired
August 31, 2020. After a brief discussion, clarification was made that the Board will defer a
decision to extend or repurpose Grant Funds for Fort Worden Employee Housing at a future
meeting. Representative Gary Rowe moved to extend the City of Port Townsend Storm Water
Grant and both of the Public Utility District (PUD) No. 1 Quilcene Water Tank Grants until
December 31, 2021. Commissioner Pete Hanke seconded the motion which carried by a
unanimous vote.
Notice of Adjournment and setting the Next Meeting: The Board agreed to set the next meeting
on December 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. The Agenda will include consideration of the proposal from
Fort Worden, future funding opportunities and discussion regarding board appointments and
alternates. Kate moved, Michelle seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. The
meeting adjourned at 12:38 p.m.
