PRIMARY PROPOSED ACTIONS
1.Opportunistically release young conifer throughout all
alder-dominant floodplains
•Increase light & growth rate to accelerate
natural forest succession
2.Thin alder-dominant floodplain and plant with conifer
•Convert alder-dominant floodplains to mixed to
accelerate natural forest succession
3.Identify invasive species presence, treat and monitor
•Eradicate existing invasive plants
•Monitoring to identify and treat new
occurrences
4.Install ELJs and/or reinforce existing logjams along
floodplain margins to limit further lateral migration
•Limit lateral migration of the main stem
channel
•Provide deep pools with cover in main stem or
channel thread
5.Install ELJs and/or reinforce exiting logjams within the
floodplain
