HomeMy WebLinkAbout041122ca05 Department of Public Works O Consent Agenda Page 1 of 1 Jefferson County Board of Commissioners Agenda Request To: Board of Commissioners Mark McCauley, County Administrator From: Monte Reinders, Public Works Director/County Engineer Agenda Date: April 11, 2022 Subject: Concurrence and Authorization Easement Acquisition - Port Hadlock Sewer Statement of Issue: The Public Works Department seeks authorization to proceed with the offer, negotiation, and acquisition of easements for sewer lines on the parcels described herein. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's: These easements will be for public sewer main lines in the vicinity of Kivley Center in Port Hadlock. The easements provide the preferred alignment for sewer lines to facilitate connections to existing and future buildings as welt as to avoid the complications and costs of placing sewer lines in the State Highway right of way and through the busy 4-way intersection at SR-116/Irondale Rd/Chimacum Rd. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: An appraisal was performed by Integral Realty Services which determined the combined value of the easements at $31,200. Funding for these easements exists in the Port Hadlock Sewer Fund from transferred ARPA funds. The easements are expected to provide a costs savings over other alignments considered. Recommendation: Please sign the attached Concurrence and Authorization document and return to Public Works for further processing. See exhibit attached for a depiction of said easements. The Board does hereby indicate its concurrence and gives authorization for the Department of Public Works to proceed with the offer, negotiation, and acquisition of the above designated properties in accordance with Right of Way Acquisition Procedures Resolution 05-11, approved February 7, 2011. This authorization further directs the Department to execute the documentation to close said transactions and coordinate with the approved funding sources to pay for acquisition expenses.
