ORDER OF THE JEFFERSON COUNTY
BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
Appellant: Sandra Williams (Christian)
Appeal No.: BOE 21-14-R
Parcel No.: 997 200 013
Issue:Under appeal is a One room A Frame on a waterfront, view parcel at 60 Sunny Slope Road,
Brinnon,WA. 98320. The appellant estimates the value to be $134,988 ($100,000 for the land and
$34,988 for the improvements). The Assessor's valuation of the property as of January 1, 2021 is
$183,488 ($148,500 for the land and $34,988 for the improvements).
Appellant's Argument and Evidence:The appellant wrote and testified that the property did not
have a septic or gray water system. There are no plumbing fixtures in the building.
Assessor's Argument and Evidence:The Assessor noted he is reviewing the valuations of several
of the properties in the Sunny Slope area due to lack of septic systems. He noted that the land value
of$100,000 as suggested by the Appellant would be reasonable.
Decision:The Board of Equalization overrules the Assessor's original valuation and finds that that
the true and fair market value is $134,988 ($100,000 for the land and $34,988 for the
improvements).
