CALL TO ORDER: Jefferson County Commissioner David Sullivan called the Regular
meeting to order in the presence of Port Townsend Mayor Michelle Sandoval, Barb Carr,
Whitney Friddle, Lori Fleming, Barbara Morey, Fred Kimball, Ben Casserd, Sarah Martinez, Jeff
Monroe, Kathy Morgan, Joe Nole, and Peggy Webster. Also present were Facilitator Lizanne
Coker, Alternate Cherish Cronmiller, Alternate Jean Camfield and Alternate Pat Teal. Members
Sarah Rogers, Terry Smith, and Frank Hoffman joined the meeting after roll call.
REVIEW and APPROVAL of MINUTES: Member Fleming noted a correction to the Regular
Meeting Minutes of August 26, 2020; she was not listed as being present. She moved to approve
the Regular Meeting Minutes of August 26, 2020 as amended and September 9, 2020 as
presented. Member Friddle seconded the motion. The motion carried.
2021 APPLICATION UPDATE: Member Webster presented the Request for Proposals (RFP)
Review Panel recommendations with the Housing Task Force. After discussion, Member Nole
moved to send the proposed funding allocations to the Joint Oversight Board. Member Kimball
seconded the motion. The motion carried.
DISCUSSION: Sales Tax Update/Discussion of Team Statements: The Housing Task Force
reviewed Sales Tax subcommittees statements. Member Nole presented on the Needs Statement
and Member Friddle presented on the Communications Statement. The Task Force discussed
potential edits.
CARES ACT UPDATE: Member Cronmiller reported on the use of the CARES Grant.
DISCUSSION re: CAMPGROUND USE: The Fair Board has not continued discussions
regarding extended use of the campground during the winter.
PUBLIC COMMENT: The Task Force reviewed two emailed comments received and read
aloud by Facilitator Coker. Later in the meeting, two more comments were addressed.
FUTURE MEETINGS and AGENDA ITEMS: Future Agenda items to be discussed include:
the meeting schedule for the remainder of 2020, fairground update, and team reports.
ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Sullivan adjourned the meeting at 4:01 p.m.
