CALL TO ORDER: All Committee members met via teleconference call. Jefferson County
Commissioner David Sullivan called the Regular meeting to order in the presence of at 2:01 p.m.
in the presence of Port Townsend Councilmember Michelle Sandoval, Amanda Funaro, Sarah
Rogers, Lori Fleming, Frank Hoffman, Whitney Friddle, Peggy Webster, Roy Walker, David
Rymph, Kathy Walker, Sarah Martinez, Terry Smith, and Leslie Shipley. Also present was
Facilitator Lizanne Coker, OlyCAP Director Cherish Cronmiller and Dove House Director
Beulah Kingsolver.
REVIEW and APPROVAL of MINUTES: Member Smith moved to approve the Special
Meeting Minutes of April 1, 2020. Member Shipley seconded the motion. The motion carried.
REPORT on Fund 148 and Fund 149 Balances: The Task Force members requested greater
clarity in the fund balance reports. Member Sullivan requested that the sales tax revenue also be
listed. Member Martinez suggested a Balance Sheet report. Facilitator Coker reported that
Jefferson County Central Services Director Mark McCauley will be providing more information
on the report at the Joint Oversight Board meeting later today.
DISCUSSION re: SHELTER REPORTS: The Task Force heard from reports by OlyCAP,
Dove House, and Bayside Housing. Member Cronmiller and Member Walker reported on the
removal of campers today from the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Member Rymph requested
that the Task Force consider funding a non-agency related Navigator for people who are
experiencing homelessness.
UPDATE re: 3-YEAR SHELTER GRANT from the DEPARTMENT of COMMERCE:
Not discussed.
UPDATE re: RECAP of FIRST ROUND of GRANT RECIPIENTS: Habitat for Humanity
Director Jamie Maciejewski gave and update and reported they are finishing their 50th house.
DISCUSSION re: 2nd REQUEST for PROPOSALS (RFP) PROCESS for 2020: Not
discussed.
UPDATE RE: JEFFERSON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION: Not discussed.
PUBLIC COMMENT: There were no comments.
FUTURE MEETINGS and AGENDA ITEMS: Next regular meeting next week on July 8,
2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jefferson County Commissioner Chambers in Port Townsend, or by
phone if required.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 3:58 p.m.
