SUBJECT: ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS (2)re: Jefferson County Library Board
of Trustees; 1) Five Year Term to Expire April 2027, Trustee George Sibley and 2) To Complete
an Unexpired Term Ending April 2024; Trustee Vickie Norris
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS (2) re: Jefferson County Library Board of Trustees; 1) Five Year
Term to Expire April 2027, Trustee George Sibley and 2) To Complete an Unexpired Term Ending April
2024; Trustee Vickie Norris
ANALYSIS:
A letter was received from Tamara Meredith,Jefferson County Library Director relaying the Jefferson County
Library Board of Trustees considered applicants for open positions left vacant upon the end of Trustee Hal
Beattie's second term of service and the resignation of Trustee Raj Rakhra in April 2022. After consideration
of the candidates, the Trustees would like to request that you appoint: George Sibley—new term beginning
May 2022 and ending April 2027 and Vickie Norris—to complete Trustee Raj Rakhra's term ending April
2024
George Sibley, a Nordland resident, has had an extensive career in the Foreign Service, with significant
international government relations, management, and Board experience.
Vickie Norris, a Port Ludlow resident, brings decades of experience in law, and has previously served as a
Trustee for a municipal library in Washington. Both will make excellent additions to our library's Board of
Trustees.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS (2) re: Jefferson County Library Board of Trustees; 1)
Five Year Term to Expire April 2027, Trustee George Sibley and 2)To Complete an Unexpired Term Ending
April 2024; Trustee Vickie Norris
