APPROVAL of Regular Meeting Minutes for March 1, 2022 10:45 – 11:10 a.m. EXECUTIVE SESSION with Risk Manager, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Public Health Director, Superior Court Clerk, Safety Officer, Risk Coordinator, and Claims Coordinator re: Potential Litigation; Exemption as Outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act, RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) 11:10 – 11:20 a.m. EXECUTIVE SESSION with Risk Manager, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Public Health Director, Superior Court Clerk, Safety Officer, Risk Coordinator, and Claims Coordinator re: Actual Litigation; Exemption as Outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act, RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) OLD BUSINESS • On February 1, 2022 the committee reviewed the Washington State Patrol report for #C-11-21 Jonathan Lee Thompson; In the Amount of $18,507.42; Traffic Collision with Jefferson County Sheriff’s Vehicle. The committee approved sending a letter to the claimant to drop the claim as both parties were at fault. That letter was sent February 9, 2022. As of 4/1/2022 no response received. Staff recommends monitoring this matter until 60 days after February 9, 2022.
• Joint Jefferson County and Clallam County Tender of Wilson Claim; Agreement Reached on
joint defense with Clallam County and the Washington Counties Risk Pool (WCRP). Staff
recommends removing this item from Old Business.
• Robert Gash; JeffCo Site Address Permission Request; OpenStreetMap; Broadband Advocacy Project. On March 1, 2022, the committee considered this matter and decided it was not within the committee’s jurisdiction. Staff recommends removing this item from Old Business.
• Douglas Henderson, Tort Claim # C-01-22, received 2/4/2022, was considered by the committee on March 1, 2022. On the recommendation of the Public Works Department, the Committee approved paying the claim. Staff recommends removing this item from Old Business.
NEW BUSINESS
• Now that a new permanent County Administrator has been appointed, consider a recommendation to
the Board of County Commissioners on the Risk Manager position.
• Now that a new permanent County Administrator has been appointed, consider a recommendation to
the Board of County Commissioners that a resolution be adopted and sent to the WCRP appointing
Mark McCauley as Jefferson County’s director for the WCRP Board of Directors.
• Consider a recommendation to the Board of County Administrator to appoint a Claims
Administrator
DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION re: CLAIMS: • #C-02-22; Chris and Laura Raymaker; Prints Through Fresh Cement; In the Amount of $8,738.91 ADJOURNMENT
