IN THE MATTER OF SUPPORT FOR}
SENATE BILL 6325 AUTHORIZING}
FOURFOOTFE~ESANDSHORE ,}
SIDE FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS}
RESOLUTION NO. 26-98
WHEREAS, an efficient and adequate foot ferry fleet is vital to the economy
and transportation in Various Western Washington Counties; and
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of Jefferson County to identi,fyand support
means for preserving and enhancing commerce and quality of life for its citizens; and
WHEREAS, government has a responsibility to seek cost-effective, efficient
and timely solutions; and
WHEREAS, an opportunity exists today to build foot ferries using existing
production lines and expertise, thereby saving taxpayers millions of dollars and ensuring
timely commutes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we strongly endorse and
request the signing of Senate Bill 6325 by the Honorable Governor Gary Locke.
