In the Matter of Creating
a Jefferson County Lodging
Tax Advisory Committee
RESOLUTION NO 33-98
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wish a thorough review and recommendation
regarding the implementation of a Local Option Excise Tax on lodging; and,
WHEREAS, RCW 67.28 requires that a Lodging Tax Advisory Committee be fonned
before imposing said tax.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, by the Board of County Commissioners that:
A Jefferson County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is hereby fonned for the
purpose of reviewing and making a recommendation on the proposed adoption of
an ordinance to implement the optional excise tax provisions ofRCW 67.28.
Said Committee shall consist of five (5) persons as provided herein:
a) Two (2) persons representing the lodging industry who are engaged in
business interests subject to the excise tax.
Two (2) persons from organizations who have been traditional recipients
of funds trom the Jefferson County HotellMoteI Fund.
One (1) member of the Board of County Commissioners.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to advertise
for membership by publication in the Port Townsend Leader and direct contact of parties of record,
meeting the requirements stated above.
