In the Matter of Establishing a Salary Schedule
for the Elected Offices of Assessor, Auditor,
Clerk, Treasurer, Commissioner, Sheriff, and
Prosecuting Attorney

RESOLUTION NO
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners sets the salaries of elected official and the
salaries of future Board of Commissioners; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson County has adopted a compensation system which is applied to all
non-represented personnel; and,
WHEREAS, the salaries of the elected offices of Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Treasurer,
Commissioner, Sheriff and Prosecuting Attorney should be treated with the same parity, consistency and
unifonnity as other non-represented officials.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, by the Board of County Commissioners that
the annual salary for the elected Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Treasurer, Commissioners, Sheriff, and
Prosecuting Attorney shall be placed on a compensation system as provided in ATTACHMENT A and
established as follows:

Thereafter elected officials shall progress through the steps, within the assigned Salary Grade, with
annual adjustments taking place on January I of each year. The Elected Official will continue with the

Resolution No. - Establishing a Salary Schedule for the Elected Officials of Jefferson County
returning to elective office after a break in service from that office; appointed to fill an unexpired tenn)
shall begin at Step 1 in the assigned Salary Grade for the specific office.
Additionally, the Elected Officials Compensation Schedule shall be adjusted annually, effective January
1, at 80% of the CPI-W for All US Cities, September to September Index.
