RESOLUTION NO. ,46",",98
Whereas, the Sheriff s Department is the emergency operations center for Jefferson County; and
Whereas, the emergency operations center necessitates a backup power source in the event of a disaster or
power failure; and
Whereas, the Jefferson County Department of Public Works has reported to the Board of County
Commissioners, that the emergency generator located at the Sheriffs Department is inoperable, and
Whereas there is a present emergency which necessitates the utilization of emergency powers granted
pursuant to RCW 36.40.180;
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED and declared that there is an emergency due to the inoperable emergency
generator located at the Sheriffs Department in Jefferson County; therefore, designated departments are
authorized to enter into contracts and incur obligations necessary to prevent any inteITuption to the 911
system, protecting health and safety of persons and property, and providing emergency assistance to victims.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that each designated department is authorized to exercise the powers vested
under this resolution in the light of the exigencies of an extreme emergency and formalities prescribed by
law (excepting mandatory constitutional requirements).
