An Intent to Vacate
A County Road Right of Way:

WHEREAS, after due consideration, it appears to this Board of County Commissioners
that it is not in the public interest to retain, as county road right of way, the portion of Bachelor
Road, County Road Number 501609, described as follows:
A portion of a strip of land 60 feet wide, being 30 feet in width on each side of the
centerline conveyed to Jefferson County per Volume 153, Page 292 recorded under
Jefferson County Auditor File No. 165914; located over and across the north 200 feet of
the east 900 feet of the SW % of the NW % of Section 35, Township 30 North, Range 2
West, W.M.; being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point lying 50 feet westerly of the intersection of the Bachelor Road,
County Road No. 501609, right of way centerline and the southerly prolongation of the
new boundary line as depicted per record of survey, recorded January 14, 1996, Volume
17, Page 143, records of Jefferson County; thence easterly approximately 300.53 feet to
the east line of said SW % of the NW % of Section 35, Township 30 North, Range 2
West, W.M. and the end of this description.
All situate in the County of Jefferson County, State of Washington.
And in contemplation of the language of the statute RC.W. 36.87.010, same is useless.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, arid the County Engineer is hereby directed to
examine said road and report his opinion as to whether this county road right of way should be
vacated and abandoned and all other facts, matter and things which will be of importance to the
Board, and that such report to be filed as soon as possible. The hearing date for the proposed
vacation is Tuesday, September 1, 1998 at the hour of 1:00 p.m., with the Jefferson County
Hearing Examiner in the lower level conference room, Courthouse, Port Townsend,
Washington.
