Vacation of a Portion of Bachelor Rd.
x
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners has reviewed a road vacation initiated
by Jefferson County Public Works; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Hearing Examiner held a public hearing on the road vacation
petition on November 3, 1998; and .
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Hearing Examiner considered testimony of the public, comments
from applicable departments, agencies and offices, and recommendation from the Jefferson County Public
Works Department and Jefferson County Planning Department at the public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Hearing Examiner detennined at the public hearing that the
public will benefit from the vacation of this section of road and such vacation complies with the Jefferson
County Comprehensive Plan and other applicable plans, policies or ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners considered said Hearing Examiner's
report of the public hearing and his reconunendation for the vacation request and hereby adopts the
Findings of the Jefferson County Hearing Examiner dated November 17, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners have determined that the vacation of
this right of way will absolve Jefferson County from any future liability for maintenance of any private
drainage facility located thereon,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the following be vacated and abandoned pursuant
to RCW 36.87.140 and Jefferson County Road Vacation Ordinance No. 01-0102-96: A strip of land 60
feet wide, being 30 feet on each side of the centerline as described by Quit Claim Deed recorded July 26,
1960, Volume 153, Page 292, records of Jefferson County: Beginning at a point lying 50 feet westerly of
the intersection of the Bachelor Road, County Road No. 501609, right of way centerline and the southerly
prolongation of the new boundary line as depicted per record of survey, recorded January 14, 1996,
Volume 17, Page 143, records of Jefferson County; thence easterly approximately 300.55 feet to the east
line of said SW 1;4 of the NW 1;4 of Section 35, Township 30 North, Range 2 West, W.M.
Excepting therefrom that portion lying northerly of said centerline and westerly of the southerly
prolongation of the new boundary line as depicted per record of survey, recorded January 14, 1996,
Volume 17, Page 143, records of Jefferson County. Any easements may still exist.
This vacation affects parcel numbers: 002352003,002352010 & 002352017.
