IN THE MATTER OF } RESOLUTION NO. 106-98
HEARING NOTICE: PROPOSED }
BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS/EXTENSIONS }
VARIOUS COUNTY DEPARTMENTS AND }
SPECIFIC OTHER FUNDS }
WHEREAS, requests have been made on behalf of various Jefferson County
Departments and specific Jefferson County Funds for budget appropriations and extensions for
their 1998 budgets due to additional expenditures, which were not anticipated at the time of
preparing said budgets, and budget extensions to allow expenditures of unanticipated
reimbursements received from fees, or grants from the State and Federal government, or
proceeds from the sale of bonds; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of County Commissioners that a need and
emergency exists that could not have been foreseen or contemplated at the time of preparing the
budgets for 1998 and the following sums are needed for appropriation from the unencumbered
balances and extension of the fund budgets listed:
CURRENT EXPENSE FUNDS
Auditor/Elections $ 2,091.79
District Court $ 3,855.00
Operating Transfers Out $100,000.00
Sheriff $ 79,026.62
Total Current Expense: $184,973.41
SPECIFIC OTHER FUNDS
Community Services $ 4,200.00
Hotel/Motel $ 1,500.00
Mental Health $ 4,350.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby declared,
and that extensions be made for the above noted funds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on the said
emergency extensions and that said hearing be held in the County Commissioners' Chambers,
Courthouse, Port Townsend Washington, on the 4th day of January, 1999, at the hour of 3:00
p.m., and that notice of said hearing be published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County,
and that at said hearing any interested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or against the
extensions for such alleged emergency.
