In the Matter of Adopting the Limiting
Factor for the Jefferson County Regular
Property Tax Levy RESOLUTION NO 109-98
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County has met and
considered its budget for the calendar year 1999 and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, in the course of considering the
budget for 1999 has reviewed all sources of revenue and examined all anticipated expenses and
obligations; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that, due to
increased service demands for all County Departments and regulation requirements in the areas
of Growth Management, Law and Justice, Health, and Public Safety, the Board of County
Commissioners finds that there is a substantial need to increase the regular property tax limit
factor above the rate of inflation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners
of Jefferson County that the limit factor for the regular levy for the calendar year 1999 shall be
106 percent of the highest amount of regular property taxes that could have been lawfully levied
in this taxing district in any year since 1985.
