Home My WebLink About023 97 STATE OF WASHINGTON COUNTY OF JEFFERSON In the matter of: x Intention to create a Little Quilcene Flood Control Sub-Zone District RESOLUTION NO. x 23-97 x WHEREAS recent flood activity in the Little Quilcene River watershed has been particularly damaging, and; WHERgAS Jefferson County has determined that the formation of a Little Quilcene Flood Control Sub-Zone will be more advantageous to residents susceptible to flood from waters of the Little Quilcene River, and; WHEREAS The Quilcene Flood Board, representing residents in the Big Quilcene River Watershed, supports and desires the creation of the Little Quilcene Flood Control Sub-Zone District; IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners intends to create the Little Quilcene flood control sub-zone district, for the purpose of providihg more responsive assistance and support in flood related issues. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with the provisions of RCW 86.15, et seq., the Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing upon the creation of such zone, not to take place more than 30 days after adoption of such resolution, at Comm,"S~iOV1t'(S C~o.VY\bfrS , on _Mo..fC~ \\ J \C\.CCJ at the hour of d~()ð p.Vv"\' IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Boundaries of said proposed Little Quilcene district be described as follows; PROPOSED LITTLE OUILCENE FLOOD CONTROL SUB-ZONE DISTRICT Those portions of Sections 19 and 30, Township 28 North, Range 1 West, W.M.; those portions of Sections 13, 21, and 22, all of Sectiohs 23 through 28, all of Sections 33 through 36, Township 28 North, Range 2 West, W.M.; that portion of Section 18, Township 27 North, Range 1 West, W.M.; those portions of Sections 4, 12, 13, 15, 22 and 23, all of Sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, and 14, Township 27 North, Range 2 West; that portion of the Olympic National Forest; and that portion of Quilcene Bay more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point located in Quilcene Bay on the section line common to Sections 18 and 19, T27N, R1W, W.M., said point being the intersection of said section line and the westerly boundary of the oyster claim deeded under application No. 3500 (assessor's records Tideland Tax C in Section 19); .THENCE west along said section line 23.1 chains more or less to the section corner common to Sections 18 and 19, T27N , R1W, W.M. and Sections 13 and 24, T27N, R2W, W.M.; THENCE continuing west along the north line of Section 24 to the northwest section corner of said Section 24; THENCE south along the west line of Section 24 to the centerline of U.S. 101; THENCE westerly and southwesterly along said centerline of U.S. 101 to the east-west quarter section line of Section 23; THENCE west along said east-west quarter section line to the east ~ corner of Section 22; THENCE continuing west along said east-west quarter section line to the center of Section 22; THENCE north along the north-south quarter section line of Section 22 and Section 15 to the north ~ corner of Section 15; THENCE westerly along the ridge that forms the divide between Penny Creek, its unnamed tributaries, and Dry Creek, its unnamed tributaries to the southerly summit of Green Mountain laying within the boundaries of the Olympic National Forest; THENCE northwesterly along the ridge to the northerly summit of said Green Mountain; THENCE westerly along the ridge to the intersection of the ridge with the boundary between Jefferson County and Clallam County; THENCE following said boundary between Jefferson County and Clallam County east and then north to the north line of Section 21, T28N, R2W, W.M.; THENCE east along the north line of Section 21 to the north ~ corner of said Section 21; THENCE south along the north-south quarter section line of Section 21 to the south line of the N1/2 of the N1/2 of Section 21; THENCE east along said south line to the east section line of Section 21; THENCE continuing east along a fence line which is identified in a deed from Shaw to Burke on July 12, 1991 and found in Jefferson County Auditor's Record of Deeds Volume 342 Pages 61 - 67 as a fence line which is the common property line between the Shaw and Krysinski Properties S89°44'28"E, a distance of 472.928 feet; THENCE S2°57'40"E, a distance of 576.709'; THENCE S12°43'00"E, a distance of 231.683 feet; THENCE SOo54'45"W, a distance of 1083.492 feet to the centerline of East Quilcene Road; THENCE southeasterly to the northwest corner of the boundary of a tideland parcel deeded to Lee Martin on September 10, 1952 and described by the county assessor's records as Tideland Tax Q in Section 18; THENCE following the north and east boundary of said tideland parcel to the north line of a tideland parcel deeded by the State of Washington to VOL 23 rH;: 143 Archie E. Graham on July 31, 1908 and described by the county assessor's records as Tideland Tax B in Section 18; THENCE following the north, east, and south boundary of said tideland parcel to the section line common to Section 18 and Section 19, said point being the POINT OF BEGINNING.
