WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a petition to change
the name of Ellie Street, County Road Number C616409, to Marrakech Circle or
Rainmaker Circle or My Street as shown on attached Exhibit" A", pursuant to
Jefferson County 911 Ordinance Number 2-0401-91 and;
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name to avoid
confusion in addressing and duplication of similar road names and;
WHEREAS, the petition contains 100% of the signatures of individuals
addressed along the road and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing notice appeared in the Port Townsend
Leader on May 28th, 1997 and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing notice and letter of intent was mailed to the one
property owner addressed along Ellie Street and agencies affected on May 21, 1997
soliciting comments prior to or at the hearing regarding the road name change as
shown on attached Exhibit liB" and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on June 9, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. in the
Board of County Commissioners Chambers to take testimony on the proposed road
name change as shown in part on attached Exhibits IIC" and;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the road currently named Ellie
Street shall be named Marrakech Circle.

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Jefferson County Board of
Commissioners on Monday, June 9, 1997, at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Chambers
at the County Courthouse in Port Townsend, Washington, for the purpose of taking
testimony concerning changing the name of Ellie Street to Marrakech Circle, Rainmaker
Circle or My Street in Sections 24, Township 30 North, Range 2 West, in Ocean Grove No.
3 off Beckett Point Road in Port Townsend, Washington. Any person may appear at the
public hearing and be heard. Written comments will be accepted prior to the hearing and will
be made part of the record. For further information contact the Jefferson County
Department of Public Works, (360) 385-9166. Written comments may be mailed to
