HomeMy WebLinkAboutSummary of Changes to PROS Plan for June 1, 2022 JCPRAPSummary of Major Changes to the 2015 PROS Plan Preliminary Rough Draft JCPRAB June 1, 2022 Version Introduction This is a preliminary working draft. Input, edits, and suggestions are wanted at this time. This version has been extensively updated by Matt Tyler. It was reviewed by Eric Kuzma, Engineering Services Manager & Assistant Public Works Director, as well as by John Flemming, Engineer 3 (primarily for trails information). The JCPRAB has been sent a .pdf that does not show changes to the 2015 plan. However, upon request, a version that shows all changes, and the original version are available. The overall goals of this update are:  Support future RCO grants,  Simplify the existing plan,  Update the existing plan with new information in a timely manner using available resources, and  Include more info about non-motorized trails. Major Updates  All pertinent public outreach/input, demographic, inventory, and other information updated.  Many edits for clarity.  Chapter 6 “Recommendation/Action Plan” was removed because it is largely redundant to Chapter 5, and contained mostly outdated strategic planning information pertaining to how individual parks would be maintained (volunteer vs professional), how rec programs would be operated.  Detailed legal information about how various park districts work, and sources of funding have been deleted because it may have changed and is not necessary to reproduce in the actual plan. Instead the location of the information on-line is provided.  The survey completed by the ERPRC in 2011 is left in.  Old CIP removed, all new CIP inserted  The actual ERPRC report is deleted, but referred to where it can be found on-line.  Appendix A, Park and Facility Descriptions is deleted because it is out of date and too detailed.  Additional multi-use trail information added, especially regarding the Tri-Area active transportation network and the ODT.  Additional information was added about specific projects such as the Quilcene Arts and History Trail, land banking property near Chimacum Park, replacement of playgrounds; and the need for activity specific amenities such as athletic fields, mountain bike trails, and pickle ball courts etc. Presentation  The plan will be presented by Matt Tyler in a power point that provides additional detail and a chance for input.
