This grant funding provides for DEM's four part-time clerk hire staff,who perform education and outreach to the community on disaster preparedness,aid in the development of Emergency Operations Center response capacities, and other essential components of our emergency management program. ANALYSIS: Without these sustaining grants, DEM's capacity to support emergency preparedness activities would be decreased immensely. FISCAL IMPACT: This grant provides the department with 28,015 in funding for the activities mentioned above. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of grant contract. PURPOSE& DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the Fiscal Year(FY)2021 Emergency Management Performance Grant(21EMPG)program is to provide U.S. Department of Homeland Security(DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA)Federal award funds to states to assist state, local,territorial, and tribal governments in preparing for all hazards through sustainment and enhancement of those programs as described in the Work Plan. The Department Is the Recipient and Pass-through Entity of the 21EMPG OHS Award Letter for Grant No.EMS-2021-EP-00007- S01,which is incorporated in and attached hereto as Attachment C and has made a subaward of Federal award funds to the Subrecipient pursuant to this Agreement.The Subreciplent is accountable to the Department for use of Federal award funds provided under this Agreement and the associated matching funds. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Department and Subrecipient acknowledge and accept the terms of this Agreement, including all referenced Attachments which are hereby incorporated in and made a part hereof, and have executed this Agreement as of the date below.
