CALL TO ORDER: Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) staff called the
Virtual Timber Counties Caucus meeting to order. Jefferson County Commissioner/Chair Heidi
Eisenhour and Commissioner Greg Brotherton and many other Commissioners and County Officials
across Washington State were in attendance.
DISCUSSION re: Timber Counties Caucus: The participants of the meeting discussed
the following topics:
• Staff Update: Underperforming Lands Subcommittee and Timber Training Program
• Cooperative Monitoring, Evaluation and Review(CMER) Committee Update
• Board of Natural Resources Update
• Federal Forest Lands Issues Update
• 20-Year Forest Health Plan Status Update: Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) and Statewide Map
Development
• 2022 Wildland Fire Season: Forecast and Preparation
• Forest Carbon Project: Department of Natural Resource's first-in-the-nation set aside 10,000
acres of trust lands for participation in the voluntary carbon market
• Caucus Discussion and Roundtable
