RE: Cultural Resources Assessment for the Marrowstone Inn Project, Nordland,
Jefferson County, Washington
The attached report contains our final cultural resources assessment for the Marrowstone Inn
Project, Nordland, Jefferson County, Washington. Background research and field investigation
conducted by Cultural Resource Consultants, LLC (CRC) did not result in the identification of
archaeological sites at or adjacent to the project location. Twelve historic structures are located in
the project location including: a communal lodge (DAHP Property # 725080), a barn (DAHP
Property # 725081), nine cabins ranging from bare studios to three-bedroom cottages (DAHP
Property #s 725082 and 725084 – 725091), and a “sauna” (DAHP Property # 725092)
(Attachment C). Based on background research and building analysis, the structures are
recommended not eligible for listing on historic registers. No additional cultural resources
investigation is recommended at this time. If project activities result in the discovery of
archaeological materials, project staff should follow the inadvertent discovery protocol provided
(Appendix B).
