STATE OF WASHINGTON COUNTY OF JEFFERSON In the matter of x RESOLUTION NO. 83-97 Telecommunications Reform Act of 1996 Ordinance Formulation Action Plan x x x WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners desires to comply with the changes brought about by the passage of the Telecommunications Reform Act of 1996 and; WHEREAS, the Telecommunications Reform Act of 1996 directly impacts numerous County functions such as land use planning, right of way management, permitting, educational and government access, and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognizes the far-reaching technical implications that will eventually confront local government, local businesses and Jefferson County citizens, and; WHEREAS, it is imperative that a Technical Steering Committee be assembled with representatives ITom the Public Works, PlanninglLand Use, Legal, Information Services and Public Services Departments and; WHEREAS, the function of the Technical Steering Committee will be to formulate an action plan, utilizing available County resources, towards the goal of completing an ordinance for compliance with the Reform Act. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Department of Public Works Right of Way Agent proceed with organizing the Steering Committee and submit an action plan to the Board of County Commissioners by August 30, 1997.
