WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a petition to name a
private road Carpenter Road or Brautigan Road or Lynnedale Lane as shown on
attached Exhibit "A", pursuant to Jefferson County 911 Ordinance Number 2-0401-
91 and;
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name to avoid confusion
in addressing and duplication of similar road names and addresses and;
WHEREAS, research has shown that there is currently one individual addressed
at this mile post number that will be affected by the road name change and;
WHEREAS, the petitioner is the sole addressee at this mile post number other
than the private easement granted along the first portion of the road for acce~s to
adjacent property and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing notice appeared in the Port Townsend Leader on
September 3, 1997 and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing notice and vicinity map were mailed to the
petitioner and agencies affected on September 3, 1997 soliciting comments prior to or
at the hearing regarding the naming of the road as shown on attached Exhibit JIB"
and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on September 22, 1997 at 2:30 p,m. in
the Board of County Commissioners Chambers to take testimony on the proposed
road name and;
NOW THEREFORE BE W RESOLVED, that the road shall be

Dear Ms. Van Etten:
I have been discussing the problem of our address duplication with Mr. Bob Henderson. I have
attached a copy of our Short Plat for Mr. Henderson's review. I own this property jointly with
Dale Carpenter. In a few months Mr. Carpenter will be living there permanently and will need a
mailing address and a 911 Index.
What we are proposing is that our road, (highlighted in yellow) which runs the length of our
property, be given a new name. Therefore, the tenants that have an easement road through part of
our property (highlighted in pink) can retain the addresses they are already using. This should
allow us to have our own address and 911 Index for emergency purposes.
I appreciate the help Mr. Henderson have given me and anything that can be done to resolve this
problem will be helpful. Thank you both for your time in this matter.

jurisdiction or which may affect your current addressing. Written comments may be
submitted prior to the hearing date and will become part of the record. All interested
parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing. Please contact the Jefferson
County Department of Public Works in writing at PO Box 2070, Port Townsend
Washington, 98368 or call (360) 385-9166 for further information or if you have any
questions.

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Jefferson County
Board of Commissioners on Monday, September 22, 1997, at 2:30 p.m. in the
Commissioners' Chambers at the County Courthouse in Port Townsend,
Washington, for the purpose of taking testimony concerning naming the private road
on the Coyle Peninsula in Quilcene, Washington located off Sea Home Road at mile
post 0.04 in Section 36, Township 27 North, Range 1 W. Any person may appear at
the public hearing and be heard. Written comments will be accepted and be made
part of the record. For further information contact the Jefferson County Department
of Public Works, (360) 385-9160. Written comments may be mailed to Jefferson
