WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a petition to name a
private road Fern Gully or Cedar Hollow or Black Bear Lane as shown on attached
Exhibit "A", pursuant to Jefferson County 911 Ordinance Number 2-0401-91 and;
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name to avoid confusion
in addressing and duplication of similar road names and;
WHEREAS, research has shown that there is currently one individual addressed
along the road that will be affected by the road name change and;
WHEREAS, the petitioner is the sole addressee on the road at this time and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing notice appeared in the Port Townsend Leader on
September 3, 1997 and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing notice and vicinity map were mailed to the
petitioner and agencies affected on September 3, 1997 soliciting comments prior to or
at the hearing regarding the naming of the road as shown on attached Exhibit "B"
and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on September 22, 1997 at 2:45 p.m. in
the Board of County Commissioners Chambers to take testimony on the proposed
road name and;
NOW THEREFORE ~t IT RESOLVED, that the road shall be named Fern Gully.

The following is a notice of a public hearing that has been scheduled to receive
comments and testimony regarding a request to name a private road within your
jurisdiction or which may affect your current addressing. Written comments may be
submitted prior to the hearing date and will become part of the record. All interested
parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing. Please contact the Jefferson
County Department of Public Works in writing at PO Box 2070, Port Townsend
Washington, 98368 or call (360) 385-9166 for further information or if you have any
questions.

convenience.

INTENT TO NAME A PRIVATE ROAD
FERN GULLY OR CEDAR HOLLOW OR BLACK BEAR LANE

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Jefferson County
Board of Commissioners on Monday, September 22, 1997, at 2:45 p.m. in the
Commissioners' Chambers at the County Courthouse in Port Townsend,
Washington, for the purpose of taking testimony concerning naming the private road
off Olympic Ridge Drive at mile post 0.55 in Port Ludlow, Washington located in the
Olympic Ridge Estates Plat in Section 35, Township 28 North, Range 1 E. Any
person may appear at the public hearing and be heard. Written comments will be
accepted and be made part of the record. For further information contact the
Jefferson County Department of Public Works, (360) 385-9160. Written comments
may be mailed to Jefferson County Public Works at PO Box 2070, Port Townsend,
WA 98368. .
