In The Matter of Amending}
and Renaming the Excess }
Compensation Reserve Fund}
RESOLUTION NO. 118-97
WHEREAS, Jefferson County created the Excess Compensation Reserve
Fund in 1993 to fund any costs for the excess compensation on retirement for County
employees; and,
WHEREAS, the amount in this fund has been sufficient to pay the costs of
excess compensation on retirement for employees with a balance left in the fund each
year since it was established; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of County Commissioners that there
other employee benefits that could be funded through this fund.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED, that the Board of County
Commissioners of Jefferson County have determined that it is in the best interest of
Jefferson County that this fund be renamed the Employee Benefit Reserve Fund and that
the scope of payments from this fund be expanded to include expenditures for an
Employee Assistance Program or similar programs that the Board of Commissioners find
to be of benefit to all County employees.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the County Auditor is here
authorized to change the name of Fund #505-000-010 to the EMPLOYEE BENEFIT
RESERVE FUND and that she is hereby authorized to disburse funds from said account
as directed by the Board of County Commissioners.
