HomeMy WebLinkAbout127 97 - æ;rI,/), ?J1..-¡'77 ¡)/Afi ) V,e-, STATE OF WASHINGTON County of Jefferson IN THE MATTER OF UPDATING RESOLUTION NO. 79-95 WHICH DEFINED THE ROLE OF THE WATER UTILITY COORDINATING COMMITTEE } } } } RESOLUTION NO. 127-97 WHEREAS, Jefferson County Resolution No. 79-95 resolved that the Water Utility Coordinating Committee (WUCC) be charged with investigations of future potable water supplies; and, WHEREAS, since the adoption of Resolution 79-95, the Washington State Legislature has acknowledged that watershed planning is an activity that should be a high priority, and passed SHB 2054 which authorized the formation of watershed planning units; and, WHEREAS, Jefferson County Resolution No. 120-97 resolved that the BOCC recognized the need for broad-based stakeholder participation in watershed planning. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County amend Resolution 79-95, Section 5 "Source of Supply Studies and Analysis" to read, "investigations of future potable water supply options (e.g. off-stream storage, aquifer capacity studies, use of advanced technology, etc.) should occur in the context of overall watershed planning, in cooperation with the WRIA planning process and in coordination with the Water Resources Council. This may involve long term data gathering, special ground water investigations, hydrogeological studies on recharge and runoff, and technology assessment (reverse osmosis, membrane treatment, etc.)."
